Teachers at Nalanda West

Nalanda West was founded at the inspiration of The Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, a Tibetan Buddhist teacher who is resident in Seattle who established Nalandabodhi and Nitartha International. Rinpoche teaches regularly at Nalanda West. Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche, who is the main spiritual teacher of The Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, resides in Asia, and teaches annually at Nalanda West. Acharya Tashi Wangchuk is a resident of Seattle and teaches weekly at Nalanda West. A variety of visiting teachers from the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, such as Ven. Thrangu Ripoche and Ven. Mingyur Rinpoche, also periodically visit our facility.

Nalanda West is also host to teachers of other Buddhist traditions, such as the Insight Meditation Society and Theravadin teachers, as well as providing ecumenical programs. Recently, at our "Dying Well" seminar, the process of living and dying well featured teachers from the Christian, Jewish and Sufi traditions in dialogue with Buddhist teachers.
